No I only experience this from the master box, I have changed HDMI cables, I have switched the box to another TV and the problem continued. The problem stops when I reduce the HD video quality. My Father-in-Law has the exact same problem on his cable box as well. This is an Xfinity issue, and has happened to many people (see this forum so the same issue). Every time Xfinity says it is a HDMI cable issue, I have proved multiple times that it is not, so is it possible that someone at Xfinity can investigate the problem and come back with a solution? The solution I suspect is a software fix within the Xfinity box.

I recently bought a 26 inch, NS-26L450A11 HDTV for my apartment room and am wondering if there's a way to change the resolution for regular, cable TV? I was able to get the resolution up to the full 1080p without trouble on my Xbox 360 by changing the resolution from the 360's picture menu settings. But when I switch to the ATV channel for standard, cable television (connected by a coaxial cable if I'm not mistaken), it only displays at 480i (shows when I change from Component to ATV). So I'm wondering how I can change the resolution to go higher (even to 720)?
I've tried going through the Picture and Channel options but have had no luck. The display models at the store I bought it from were showing TV stations and were in (clearly) higher resolution/quality, so I'm confused as to why it'd be different for me. Does it have to do with connecting via coaxial cable (need a different cable for higher resolution)? If so, are there any cables that can offer top-quality picture which connect to regular, cable, coaxial outputs?

Eleven, thank you for getting back to me. I followed the instructions and got to the "List All Modes" setting, and 1680x1050 was indeed available, so I chose it from the list and applied it. The monitor re-set itself, and the" Display Resolution" drop down actually showed it had changed from 800x600 to 1680x1050. However, the screen was still on 800x600 when it came back on. It was up for about ten seconds, then the monitor shut down for a 2nd time. I went back to check the "List of Valid Modes", and noticed they were all now missing, except 640x480 and 800x600. I tried to switch it back to 800x600 to at least get the monitor back on, but now the "apply" button on the "adapter tab" is greyed out, and I cannot apply any of the remaining valid modes from the valid modes list. The monitor will not come back on now. Also, I just can't figure out how to upload the screenshots I took to add to this. So if you could show me how to do that, I'll upload them immediately. Thanks!
